How not to put your audience to sleep
Posted by admin on September 10, 2008 in Business :: Presentation
I have been working as the accountant for a medium sized electronics company based in Seattle, Washington for many years already. One of the aspects of my job that I always found frightening and was uncomfortable about doing was to make presentations to the board of directors every quarter on the state of the company’s finances. I know that I have not been gifted with too much charisma and I know that there have been occasions when I have succeeded in sending at least one of the members of my audience to sleep.
A couple of years ago, I was at an accountant’s conference, and one of the key subjects were on how to successfully present financial statements before a potentially critical audience. The presentation was excellent, and the speaker got his message across very well. He explained the logic and the beauty behind preparing a multimedia presentation to make the subject more dynamic and interesting for the audience. I took in everything he said and couldn’t wait to get back to put his ideas into action. Nowadays everyone in the company is talking about my quarterly presentations and can’t wait for the next one to come around.

About TIFF And Document Imaging Management Software
Posted by admin on September 6, 2008 in Business :: Management
TIFF stands for Tagged Image File Format and has essentially become the industry standard for Document Imaging. All of the scanner vendors, document imaging management vendors and Enterprise Content Management vendors support this format. TIFF was originally developed by the company Aldus as a standard for imaging, Aldus is now owned by Adobe. The TIFF format provides compression to produce manageable image sizes, while also allowing the document to retain characteristics of a text document. The only true competition to TIFF is the Microsoft created MDI (Microsoft Document Imaging) format, which itself is based on the TIFF format. Adobe’s other major file format, PDF can also be used for document imaging.

Posted by admin on September 1, 2008 in Business
An important factor to consider when deciding between equipment rental and leasing services is the length of commitment. If you are not going to need certain pieces of equipment for the long term, then renting may be more appropriate for your situation. If you lease equipment and commit to a lease agreement, then you are bound to pay a certain amount of money each month for the equipment for the term of the lease. You certainly do not want to have pay out money for equipment you aren’t even utilizing. Find out all the facts before you make a decision to take part in either equipment rental or leasing.

Is The Gift Of Gab Enough?
Posted by admin on August 31, 2008 in Business :: Sales / Service
Many people think that anyone can be a salesperson. All it takes is the ‘gift of gab.’ I strongly disagree with that opinion. I have tried to sell everything from makeup to soap with no sales training. Trust me, it didn’t work for me. I would definitely attend a sales training workshop if I were going to pursue ant further sales careers. Of course, it would have to be something truly unique and something that everyone could use before I would even consider it. While I may have the gift of gab and I truly enjoy people, that does not a salesperson make!
