When your Manuscript gets Rejected- A Look at Book Publishing and Genius

Posted by admin on December 8, 2007 in Business

‘Dune’, Frank Herbert’s seminal science fiction book that addressed topics such as religion and ecology, was rejected by almost 20 book publishing houses before it was finally published. It later went on to win both the Hugo and Nebula science fiction awards and is one of very few books to do so. The point is it’s very hard to get a book published by a major publishing house especially if you’re a nobody- even if you did make a manuscript that was a work of genius. Our world would have been poorer had Frank Herbert stopped trying at… let’s say his 15th attempt. Fortunately for us all he did not stop trying and neither should you if your manuscript gets rejected. Keep looking, and good luck!
