Are you an author? Have you recently finished a manuscript? If so, it’s time to start visiting book publishing companies. You should personally deliver your manuscript to publishing companies, rather than mail it to them. When you personally deliver it, the receptionist will stamp the date on it. When you mail it, it’s no telling how long it will remain in the unopened envelope before it’s opened and stamped. Someone will review it sooner if you deliver it personally than if you mail it. You should also visit several publishing companies in a short period of time. Your manuscript will be rejected by many publishers. Don’t take your manuscript to a publisher and wait for a rejection before you take it to another company. If you take it to publishers, one by one, you will waste a lot of precious time. Take it to several and wait for the responses. Getting more than one offer is not a bad thing. This may mean more money for you, the author. Publishing companies may compete for your work.
