Many people seem to think that using a credit management service or repayment plan is just as bad as Chapter 13 bankruptcy. In fact, some Bankruptcy Services will say you should use their repayment plans to avoid bankruptcy debt but will you end up in debt even more so because of the fees these services take?
Do you homework. Check with your local and the on line better business bureau and try to find honest feedback about the services and the company offering them.
If you end up in worse shape, it isn't worth it, though bankruptcy will show on your record for ten years.
