Burger King Franchise and Activist Groups

Animal rights groups have long condemned major international franchise companies like McDonalds and Burger King for their sale of meat products. In the United States and many other developed countries, burger king franchise locations have been picketed by protestors from these groups. The main bone of contention by these groups is that the factory farming methods used to obtain meat products and eggs are unnecessarily cruel to animals. Burger King has switched many suppliers as a concession to these groups. However, the more militant groups have continued to criticize and perform actions against Burger King, and intend to stop only when the company completely shuts down its operations
