1031 Exchange Scams

One must always be wary of scammers who will try to facilitate a 1031 exchange for you. Many people have already fallen prey to these criminals who promise to facilitate all sorts of dealings that they claim would enable someone to enjoy the benefits of the protection of a 1031 exchange. Remember that when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. The IRS does not give exemptions or extensions in any case so if some promises you some fantastic loophole that you could benefit from, always take it with a grain of salt. If you do need advice, always stick with established companies and not with possible fly-by-night operations.
